Goran Gojevic

Goran “Goya” Gojevic is a Serbian-born clarinetist, music educator, and performer based in Toronto, Canada, with a career spanning classical and Balkan folk traditions. Known for his expressive style and technical mastery, Goran has performed extensively across Europe and North America both as a soloist and chamber musician.

 

He graduated from the Belgrade Conservatory in 1986 and earned his degree in Clarinet Performance from the Faculty of Music in Novi Sad in 1991. In 1993, he completed his Master’s degree at the same institution. During his studies, Goran was a sought-after soloist and ensemble member, performing with prestigious groups such as the Belgrade Philharmonic, Novi Sad Symphony, the Belgrade National Opera and Ballet Orchestra, and the University Symphony Orchestra.

 

A recipient of numerous scholarships and grants, Goran has frequently recorded for radio and television and has competed in several world-class music competitions. In 1990, he participated in the International Competition for Musical Performers in Geneva, and in 1991, he won Yugoslavia’s National Musical Competition.

 

Since moving to Canada in 1993, Goran has continued to perform widely and has established himself as a respected teacher. He is the founder and director of the Goya School of Music, where he offers clarinet instruction rooted in classical tradition with an emphasis on musicality and expression.
